posted by: weasy (reply) post date: 03.30.07 (9:10 pm) gun to my head, i would never swear off chocolate, ice cream or pasta...... there is a better way to shed those pounds......try eating health crap for a week, see if it balances itself out..... -weas posted by: lolita (reply) post date: 03.30.07 (9:39 pm) chocolate actually isn't terrible for you. if you can stand dark chocolate (some people, like my humbert, hate it with a passion) its actually pretty good for you. but otherwise, yeah, pasta, bread, ice cream, things with a lot of refined sugar and carbs (aka, white sugar, white bread (as in not whole-grain)) are condusive to weight. but eat things with protein like chicken, meat, cheese, eggs etc so your body doesn't go into starvation mode and start eating your muscle. and don't swear off those foods 'forever', because you'll feel hopeless if/when you slip up. think more along the lines of 'one meal once a week with a normal-sized portion of (insert carbohydrate-laden food here).' if you can stand whole-grain things (like whole grain pasta etc) those actually take more energy to break down than there is in the food (same with celery and apples with the skin on) so you end up burning fat by eating them. whole grain stuff generally tastes like ass and cardboard though, so it may be easier to just not eat the stuff. and the first three days are the hardest. (and as if you couldn't tell, i am an atkins dieter for life <3) good luck, but remember to EAT. i don't care how 'fat' you are (cause i can pretty much bet money that i'm bigger than you), not eating not only isn't good for you, but isn't very condusive to losing weight (i know it doesn't make sense, but science backs it up.). love, loli |
